Carlos Elizondo is a Co-Founder and Principal at Bailey, Elizondo & Brinkman LLC. His extensive financial services experience ranges from financial and transaction advisory to public accounting and banking. Mr. Elizondo's customers have included early stage, middle market, and Fortune 50 companies. He has advised senior management and owners of both public and private companies on their strategic options in the capital and debt markets. Mr. Elizondo is proficient in numerous financial products, including: corporate loans; distressed debt; second-lien loans; securitizations; factoring facilities; leveraged, tax and structured leases; trade finance; vendor programs; real estate finance; and equity. He has provided strategic and financial counsel to his clients - advising them on the appropriate financial solutions for their complex situations, including financial restructurings. His transaction experience includes sourcing, due diligence, structuring, underwriting, negotiations, syndications and portfolio management - on behalf of his clients, for investment evaluation, and in consideration of global acquisitions and divestitures.
Prior to founding the firm, Mr. Elizondo was most recently a Team Leader for GE Capital's Enterprise Client Group, where he managed a team of professionals responsible for global relationship management and new business origination. During his tenure at GE, he held additional roles including Senior Vice President Relationship Manager, Vice President Originations, and Vice President Portfolio & Underwriting. In these capacities, he led and closed numerous transactions producing over $6 billion in loan commitments. These transactions have included leases and loans to support growth, acquisition financing, recapitalizations, financial restructurings, and leveraged buyouts.
Prior to his career at GE, he held several roles at the international public accounting firm of Arthur Andersen LLP, performing business and transaction advisory services for clients in various industries. He managed audit teams and clients, and was responsible for planning, supervision and billing. In addition, Mr. Elizondo executed buy-side and sell-side diligence engagements, which included tax and accounting structuring, valuations, and merger integration and post-transaction analysis for private equity investors and strategic buyers.
Mr. Elizondo received his BA in History from The University of Texas at Austin and his MAcc from the University of Southern California where he was a Leventhal Academic Fellow. He is also Six Sigma Green Belt certified. Additionally, Mr. Elizondo is an active member of the Turnaround Management Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute. He resides in Northern California with his wife and three children.
